Rose Petals

This heatwave is perfect for airdrying petals.  Petals make perfect additions to homemade aromatherapy gifts.

If you have roses in your garden you can dry the petals. Simply lay the petals out on a piece of kitchen roll on a tray (single layer) and leave in the heat. These are beautiful in your homemade products like bath salts or in homemade tea blends and cooking.  

You can do the same with lavender flowers or calendula petals.

Please only use petals that you know the origin of and that haven’t been sprayed or contaminated with.  If you are using the petals in food then clip the lower bitter white part of the petal off.  In bath salts this doesn’t matter.
