My Holistic First Aid Kit – Part 2

I have been travelling a fair bit these past few years.  Wherever I go there are some items I always take with me.  I have an allergy to antibiotics so I need to be really careful that if I got a mild infection I can take care of it myself.

Another important part of my holistic first aid kit go to is Tea Tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia).  I use this on everything from spots (I don’t have them thankfully but some people will use 1 drop neat at the first sign of a cold sore), insect bites and also if I have any concerns about Athlete’s foot I dilute it down with a little coconut oil and rub it into my feet and it’s something I tell my family to use.

I am really happy with my one from DoTerra. It is an essential oil that you wouldn’t want to be ingesting neat (although you can add 1 drop to a water solution and gargle with it and spit out for sore throats but not something you want to swallow) and you do need to use caution when using neat on skin too as some people can be sensitive.  Clinical studies have shown it to be effective in combating MRSA and it is known to be anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal in action. It can be useful for helping with acne too.

My next post will be about my kit, part 3.

If you would like to learn more about essential oils please note that as well being a qualified aromatherapist I am also a wellness advocate for the Doterra brand.  I will be running some webinars soon so please contact me via email if you would like to learn more or you can also visit my Doterra store.*

Disclaimer:   Please note I am not a medical practitioner.  I am unable to diagnose medical conditions, nor am I able to offer medical advice. Complementary/holistic therapies, such as Massage and Reflexology, are not intended to replace medical advice nor medical treatment, nor do they claim to “cure”. If you have an issue of a medical nature that is giving you concern then please contact your G.P./doctor first and foremost.

  • How to shop for Doterra essential oils:  you can buy them at retail by using my store or you can open a wholesale account with me (please let me know – it’s a really easy process).  By opening a wholesale account it doesn’t force you to further purchases nor to build a business.  However, if you want to because you have a love for essential oils then please let me know and we can discuss this further. I can also invite you to a webinar and send you a free sample before attending so you can learn more and have an aroma experience too.
