The whole digestive tract is of great importance to our health and wellbeing. It’s vital to keep our bowels healthy and a major factor in the Standard American Diet or the British Average Diet is a lack of fibre. One great way to add some in is to add linseeds to your diet. Linseeds, also known as flax seeds, are a really great source of soluble fibre and also rich in Omega 3s. I add them to my smoothies sometimes and a great tip if you have constipation is to add 2 heaped dessertspoons of golden linseeds to a cup of boiling water at night. Leave it to soak overnight and in the morning add more water, give it a stir and drink it down.
As with all food, not everyone reacts the same. It is important not to rely on one food to make your bowels work. In holistic health coaching we don’t view food in a take this to sort out this. Rather we ensure that your whole lifestyle works to improve your health and wellbeing.
